Coolanowle: Organic Farm Food Fayre and Family Day

coolanowlecopyLocal and organic are the two main buzzwords in food today.  And both of these elements combine in a wonderful event to take place on Sunday 11th  September.

Coolanowle Organic Farm and Guesthouse, in conjunction with Bord Bia, is hosting a lively family food event on Sept 11th to kick start National Organic Week. It includes a farmers market hosting an array of local food producers and businesses as well as a fantastic line up of food workshops such as cheese making, butter making, sausage making and bread making as well as cookery demonstrations.

For those aspiring horticulturists there will be workshops given by gardening expert Andrew Farrelly of Ballintubbert Gardens on creating your own edible garden as well as advice on maintaining a meadow garden. Guests will also have the opportunity to avail of a guided farm walk.

For the kids fun entertainment is guaranteed! There will be a pet farm present along with pony rides, face painting, a teddy bears picnic, a treasure hunt and lots of other fun games and activities around the idyllic woodland gardens and lakes on Coolanowle Farm.

Guaranteed to keep hunger at bay, Coolanowle Organics will be there to tantalise your taste buds with their Organic Steak Sandwiches, Burgers, Sausages and Chunky Fries.
