Local and Community Development Programme

The Local Community Development Programme (LCDP) is designed to counter disadvantage and to promote equality and social and economic inclusion.  This ensures a more focused approach to helping the marginalized.

Laois Partnership aims to reduce social exclusion amongst disadvantaged individuals and communities in Laois. The programme works with unemployed people, older people, young people, one parent families, people with disabilities and Travellers. The strength of the LCDP Programme is that it encourages partnership with other social inclusion groups, agencies and communities.

General Programme Goals

  1. Promote awareness, knowledge and uptake of a wide range of statutory, voluntary and community services.
  2. Increase access to formal and informal educational, recreational and cultural development activities and resources.
