SEAI FUNDING For Better Energy Communities – Workshop Portlaoise – 12th Jan

Better Energy Communities 2017 was officially announced on 24th October 2016 by Denis Naughten T.D., Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment and an increased budget of €25M confirmed to support BEC projects to be delivered in 2017.

The scheme, which is administered by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), has supported 300 community energy efficiency projects over the last five years. As a result over 15,000 homes and hundreds of community, private and public buildings have received energy efficiency upgrades, supporting several hundred jobs each year.

In 2016 funding provided for energy efficiency upgrades to more than 2,600 homes and almost 300 community and commercial facilities. The total investment in energy efficiency is almost €48 million, supporting more than 700 direct and indirect jobs right across the country.
