Childcare Training and Employment Assistant Co-ordinator (Assistant CE Supervisor)

Laois Partnership Company has responsibility for the delivery of the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP 2018 – 2022), the Rural Development Programme (LEADER Programme), and a series of ancillary programmes in County Laois. We are seeking to recruit a Childcare Training and Employment Assistant Co-ordinator (Assistant CE Supervisor) to work on the Community Employment Childcare Project which is funded by the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection.

The successful candidate’s role will be to:-

  • Co-ordinate the intake of CE applicants to the project and support the recruitment process.
  • procure and co-ordinate the delivery of training programmes for CE participants;
  • Conduct training needs analysis and develop Individual Learner Plans (ILPs) with each CE participant;
  • Manage budgets available for training & materials;
  • Maintain financial records including wages, bank reconciliations, material claims to Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection etc;
  • Explore job opportunities for learners by liaising with employers in the area with a view to supporting progression of participants;
  • Liaise with relevant support agencies (e.g. Intreo services, ETB, County Childcare Committee).

Other responsibilities in this position will require the Officer to:-

  • Ensure that all support to childcare services is framed around Síolta and Aistear and includes advice around curriculum, planning, professional practice, legislative and human resource issues;
  • Undertake any other relevant tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

 

Conditions of Work

The successful candidate will be required to work full-time, 39-hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The contract will be until April 2020 and may be renewable for a further 12 months subject to funding.

Candidate Requirements – Desirable but not Essential

  • Qualification in Business/Financial Administration, Training, Human Resources, Project Management or related disciplines;
  • A nationally recognised qualification in Childcare/Early Years Education would be beneficial;
  • Supervisory experience;
  • Experience in the design/delivery of Adult Education;
  • Expertise in financial record-keeping;
  • Previous experience of financial administration is very desirable;
  • A demonstrated ability to understand the obstacles for an adult learner in returning to education;
  • Strong computer literacy skills and ability to maintain a computerised data system;
  • A working knowledge of the Childcare Industry would be beneficial;
  • Experience of working with statutory and non-statutory agencies;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent reporting skills and the ability to work to deadlines;
  • A current full clean driving licence and own transport is a requirement for this position;
  • Employment references will be sought from a successful applicant who is under consideration for appointment;
  • Garda Vetting is a requirement for this position.

Rural Development Project Officer

Laois Community and Enterprise Development CLG t/a Laois Partnership Company is the Local Development Company for Co Laois.  The company delivers a number of programmes in the county including acting as implementing partner for Laois Local Community Development Committee for the LEADER programme 2014-2020.

We are seeking to recruit a Rural Development Project Officer to work in the Rural Development Programme.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • undertaking administration & animation duties including grant application procedures, payment processing, performance monitoring & project file maintenance
  • the implementation of strategic actions to assist in the stimulation of local enterprise and community projects

Candidates

The core responsibility of the Rural Development Officer will be to deliver on the animation and project file management aspects of the Laois LCDC Local Development Strategy

Candidates should have a proven track record in local, community and business development and be prepared to work flexible hours to suit the needs of the position.

An excellent working knowledge of computers and computer applications is essential.  A relevant third level qualification while not essential is desirable.

A current full clean driving licence and own transport is a requirement for this position.
