Laois Partnership Company invites applications for the post of Rural Recreation Officer (9 month Contract)
Laois Partnership- is a community based rural development company operating in Co. Laois
The company wishes to invite applications for the post of Rural Recreation Officer with responsibility for co-ordinating maintenance and management of walking trails and assisting with marketing and promotion of walking in the Slieve Bloom and Offaly Ways.
This is a temporary position for a period of 9 months and is funded by the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural & Gaeltacht Affairs.
Candidates should have a good knowledge of and interest in walking route management and promotion, have an understanding of the needs of tourists and the tourism industry, should have some experience in rural/community development work, be a good communicator, self-motivated and have the ability to work effectively with a network of individuals and organisations.
A third level qualification in one of the above disciplines, while not essential is desirable. Excellent Computer Skills are essential and knowledge of GIS applications such as ArcGIS is desirable.
A full clean driving licence and own transport is essential.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
