Every Year, Laois Partnership Company provides a wide range of training opportunities for individuals and groups who live in Laois.

The following training programmes are on offer:

QQI Level 3 Computer Literacy
QQI Level 4 Information Technology
QQI Level 4 Computer Applications
QQI Level 5 Healthcare (3 modules)
QQI Level 4 Horticulture (6 modules)
QQI Level 4 HACCP (2 courses)
QQI Level 3 Culinary skills (3 modules)

‍In conjunction with the LOETB, Laois Partnership Company is also offering two QQI Level 4 Major Awards in Catering Support and Employment Skills. These are Local Training Initiative (LTI) programmes. Both programmes are full-time and are 32 weeks in duration. The Catering Support programme will take place in the Further Education Centre in Mountmellick and the Employment Skills programme will take place in the Macra Hall in Mountrath. In addition to QQI accredited training, Laois Partnership Company hopes to offer a range of DSP funded skills packages. These include Warehouse and Forklift training, Chainsaw (City and Guilds CS 30 – CS 32), Hand Held Pesticide Application (City & Guilds NPTC) and Safe Pass training. Also on offer is a QQI Level 5 Office Skills package consisting of Reception & Frontline Office Skills, Spreadsheet Methods and Book Keeping.

Lifelong Learning

Lifelong Learning Department at Portarlington Further Education and Training Centre is able to offer a range of undergraduate and industry recognised professionally certified programmes on a part-time basis. The Lifelong Learning Department team are dedicated to supporting those students who make an investment in life-long learning by establishing and maintaining an excellent working partnership between our students and their lecturers. In today’s economic climate, we understand the importance of achieving a good work/life balance. By providing our students with the opportunity to successfully combine their study, their work and their family commitments. Together with our education partners, Portarlington Further Education and Training Centre provide a range of excellent part-time courses for students in the wider Leinster area.

This programme is designed to support participants at Higher Risk of Social Exclusion & Young People Aged 15-24
