Win €100 Laois Gift Card

What’s in a name? According to Shakespeare: “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Although, according to Bart Simpson: “Not if you called them stench-blossoms!” 

The challenge of finding the right name was one faced by Laois Partnership Company recently, as the team debated what a suitable name would be for the community centre in our headquarters on New Road, Portlaoise. Currently called An Croi (the Irish word for “heart”), this part of the building houses the community rooms, which are available for hire to community groups and organisations hosting anything and everything from yoga classes to AGMs. 

As this part of Laois Partnership is so central a local amenity, we’ve decided that the public should have a chance to name it, so get your thinking caps on and you could win a €100 Laois Gift Card if your suggestion is picked.
