Citizen Science

During July, NoreVision are providing free training in an exciting new method for citizen science developed here in Ireland that anyone can use to examine the quality of their local rivers or streams. Created by Dr. Simon Harrison of UCC, the ‘Citizen Science Index’ looks at the types of water bugs that are found at the bottom of our rivers.

Places are filling up so please ensure you signup to for this exciting free training program on citizen science (register NOW at for the following locations:

Ballingarry/ Mullinahone (Online 22nd July 6 – 8.30 pm On Location 25th July Morning

Castlecomer (Online 23rd July 6 – 8.30 pm On Location 25th July Afternoon

Durrow (Online Session 30th July 6 – 8.30pm On Location 1st August Afternoon

Water Quality Training Nore Vision

Signing up for Nore Vision Water Quality training is an excellent way to learn more about the animals that live in our rivers and stream and what affects water quality. You will also gain a practical skill in how to investigate the water quality in your local area without needing to send samples off to a lab! Sign up and join Envirico’s Dr. Julie Larkin who will take you through the technique during one online and one riverside session in your locality.
