At the end of June, the SICAP team organised a barbecue in Rathdowney to celebrate and recognise the incredible efforts of the local community in making their town a hub of friendship and cultural togetherness.
The event was an opportunity to thank members of groups such as the Community Garden, Baby & Me Mother and Toddler Group, the Men’s Shed, residents of the Commercial Inn, and members of Social Enterprises. The delicious food was provided by Blazin’ BBQ, and there was plenty of fun for all ages, with the kids getting creative and making their own colourful tie-dye t-shirts. The sumptuous array of cooked meat treats was complemented by the freshly cooked potatoes with pesto that came straight from the Clochar Centre Community Garden.
The full bellies and beaming smiles were a testament to the success of what proved to be a great day of connection, appreciation, and community spirit.
